Animating the rivers of Oz, I get a feel for how dreaming stories still travel through them, tracing a map sent by cartographer Dan Bowles, checking contour maps with Ken Wilson to learn flow directions. Moving dots along lines frame by frame, I'm loving the water flows' indifference to Colonial borders. This is part of an animation I'm preparing with Maddison Gibbs, and scientists and other artists, to present Indigenous views at the Antarctic conference in Ushuaia next month. Thanks to everyone involved, they're now part of our message to conference delegates, that the spirit of inclusion and cooperation that's at the heart of the Antarctic Treaty is the same spirit that sustained Aboriginal Australia for tens of thousands of years.
