After animating the story Flying with my Sister about my sister Nadya, I'm asked to share memories of her first psychiatrist Geoff Goding, who encouraged her to dance, draw and write. In an interview with Jeff Young, the director of the Bouverie Centre for family therapy that Geoff first set up in Melbourne, I recall "My understanding of Geoff's idea of family wasn't limited by immediate blood relatives... and that was the overarching emotion that I got, that we're all connected. We all have an impact on each other". That's the message I learned from my sister and her many carers who contributed to her story
