Catalogue
Stories, hypotheses, data and iconography are combined and presentedin different forms and contexts.
For example the animation Oceanic Living Data combines material contributed by scientists at the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) and the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). Words are by Lisa Robertswith Sue Andersonand Steve Nicol. The animation was projected through a screen of silk mesh that once trawled for plankton in the Southern Ocean, and presented in Sydney with live dancers and musicians. The mesh was contributed by Graham Hosiewho studies the distribution and abundance of plankton for indications of the health of the world's oceans. The installation was later selected by Tony Pressfor presentation at the 2012 Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting in Hobart 11-17 June. Iterations of the animation evolve as new data are processed.
