I walk through an Antarctic Beech Forest in Gloucester Tops (Australia). As I cut together some video I'd taken on the day, this song springs to mind: Use It Up, Wear it Outby Keith Johnson. Keith had found me online some months ago. He sent links to his music by way of starting a conversation. I found his response to the living world surprising. It makes awful sense and I immediately wanted to respond to it. But how? Now I hear the sounds of forest logging in the rhythms, and a call to halt our self-destruction.
