CCAMLR is the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources. Its headquarters are in Hobart. From 7-11 May 2012 scientists from around the world met here to collaborate on designing new systems to better monitor the health of the oceans. The wider international community is concerned about the status of krill and the consequent status of penguins, flying birds, seals and whales. CCAMLR is also known as the 'krill convention'.
