The boy who loved the rain
What is our connection to water and what happens when we stop caring about it?

Animation: Tom Frazer 2005

The boy who loved the rain visualises our connection to water and the consequences of ceasing to care about it. An under camera animation technique of painting on glass is used to create a fluid choreography that reveals rain as part of the weather making process that connects us to other living systems. Most of the global living system is water and we are part of that system. The animation suggests that our detachment from this natural process is dangerous. Tom made the animation when studying Animation at the Victorian College of Arts in Melbourne, Australia.
